Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II are safe valors. Square Enix wants to make more place in the market for downloadable games. While failing to provide Wii's virtual console in Europe and America, as was done in Japan, the firm announced today that the first two episodes of its series will appear on iPhone and iPod Touch. If the graphics are comparable to those of the remake PSP, the interface has been slightly reworked to fit better with the tactile features. No release date or price has yet been announced, but it shouldn't be long. An early official website has also been opened

As surprising as it may seem, this is another big name of Square Enix that leave the ship to attend to new occupations. Masashi Hamauzu, who had just signed one of the best soundtrack of all the Final Fantasy series with his compositions for the thirteenth episode, no longer works for the studio. We do not know what are his plans for the future. Obviously, the information has not been announced officially, and it will take several weeks for us to have more details. The campaign for Final Fantasy XIII in the West should light our lanterns, if developers are willing to approach the subject.
