Gil is a currency system common amongst Final Fantasy games, and as we are a Final Fantasy community we are following suit. Anyway like gil in our beloved games, you can use it to unlock parts of our website, here is a list of the unlockable pages. Also apart from unlocking parts of the website you can use your gil to buy objects to put on your forum profile. These are just little collectables that members like to show off to show they aren’t just some random new member, new items are being added from time to time and various add-ons to the shop are being looked into including Trading and selling your items to other members.

Simply put you get gil for participating in the forum. Just from having a good time getting to know the other members you can earn a decent amount of gil. Essentially replying to other members and creating new topics earns you gil so the more you participate the more gil you earn. Heres how much technically – Creating a topic
New Topic – 10 gil
Plus 0.06 gil for each word
Posting
Creating a Post – 2 gil
Plus 0.03 gil for each word

This is the part I bet most of you have waited for, how to earn gil the best way you can. I guess there are two ways, the best way to earn gil in my opinion is to participate in the community, be an active member and participate in the various discussions around the board, Final Fantasy related or life related. Also occasionally there are contests around the forum rewarding gil, so keep an eye out for them.
The second way is for people who are after a quick hit of gil and don’t want to be banned from the site for spamming, the quickest way would be to create a topic introducing yourself in the welcoming thread, seeing you get double the gil per word in a new topic this is where you want to write the most. Seeing you are able, talk about anything related to you, also asking other members questions about themselves is a good idea as most of them love talking about themselves. So simply post in there and go out to lunch, come back and check your topic and someone should have replied to you, for you to answer any questions and thus earn more gil.

Also known as spamming, it is not tolerated in any form in this community, your posts will be deleted and your gil revoked and depending on the severity you can be banned on the spot. There are currently preventative measures in place to prevent spamming and more on the way so it will not be tolerated in any form.
