"Wait - thats it? that is all the players I get to play as? but games like Tekken can have up to 40 different characters to play as and with Dissidia we only get 22?" you say. What? your not happy with 22 different fully customisable Final Fantasy Heroes and Villains? You greedy son of a...
But in really in truth if you aren't happy with 22 characters that are fully customisable then maybe you shouldn't bother buying this game.
"Well if I can't have more than 22 characters whats all this Customising stuff your going on about?" you ask - The characters can gain customisable equipment, levels and gil - so nearly anything is possible, not to mention you can change the characters costumes, Squall has been shown in his SeeD uniform and a skin for the Onion Knight to look like Luneth from the DS version. Enough Customisation for you?

"Yeah the customisation sounds pretty sweet... but why is Ject the Villain for X not Seymour?"
Well if Seymour was the Villain it would mean that Yuna would have to be the Hero, as the role between the Hero and the Villain need some kind of storyline relation - and the player character from X being Tidus means he gets first pick over Yuna.
"ah - so why do they need a storyline relation?"
I donno? What do you think I'm some all knowing sage that lives upon a hill watching everything that passes by - but the game is said to have some kind of storyline to unite both the Protagonists (the goodies) and the antagonists (the baddies) - there are gods - what role they will play is unknown, but they are Chaos the god of darkness and a new character Cosmos the goddess of light, it is unknown if they are playable characters or not.

"well is there anything else I should know about the game?"

Every Final Fantasy game has got to have summons, so where are they in Dissidia? Apparently they are accessible through the use of summon stones - how one gets a hold of a summon stone I would love to know, but they are said to hold the powers of at least 50 different summons, so far Ifrit and Carbuncle have been revealed. Not to mention that it is said to have twice the amount of spoken dialog than Crisis Core - so thats means less reading - more listening.
