| Vincent Valentine took his name from two people, Vincent Price and Saint Valentine, the first being a horro film legend and the second a crusading matyr now associated with romance.(Also the Latin verb "vincere" translates into "To conquer, outlast, defeat". To "Outlast" would be the most accurate translation since Vincent sleeps in the coffine for 30 years.) |

Due to the fact that Vincent Valentine (and Yuffie Kisaragi) are optional characters in FF VII they are not included in any FMV's including the ending sequence. |

| The phone Vincent carries in "Dirge of Cerberus" is a reference to a few points of comedy relief in the movie Advent Children. One where Cloud tells the phone-less Vincent he will give him a call. Another where Vincent asks Tifa where the phone salesman is. | |
| Also in the Reminiscence of Final Fantasy VII featurette, he speaks on the phone with Cloud, telling him to pass on a message to Yuffie: "this is my phone, and she has no right to call it. |

| Clouds look in Kingdom Hearts was intentionally designed to resemble Vincents FF VII look, specificlly the red cape covering the bottom half of his face and the golden claws on his left hand. Though there are sublte differences in the claws and cape worn by Cloud. |

| In a few interviews it was hinted that FF X/FF X-2 and FF VII were connected. Most significantly were the points of the boy shinra investigating how to use a mechina to draw and use energy from te farplane, telling Yuna & co that unfortuantly the procedure wouldn't be perfected for decades to come. It was hinted that Shinras decendants could have traveled to another planet, and in the future perfected how to draw energy from the planet and harness it, starting the Shin-Ra company. |
